It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Hey everyone!
Yep, it's me, `Astarsia here to annoy your inboxes again with some more news about our Group.

The good news is, i came up with a name, since nobody really gave me one to go off. I know a few of you were hoping for something new and fresh, but i am nothing if not a woman of my own design, and having said that, i cant help but stick to what i know. I love crikey so much, and have spent alot of time with blood sweat and tears for this place, so letting the title "crikey" go will be simply unheard of by me.

Having said that, as you all would know - if you have been keeping up with my journals in the club - we cannot convert this club into a group. Sad but true..

So because i wanted to keep "crikey" as part of the group name, i went with the very plain, awefully cliche version of ....

wait for it...

yeah i know, its pretty plain.. its awfully over-done! i know. buuuut.. I didn't want to change it so severely that it was no longer crikey.. and i didn't want to keep harping on about how we couldn't convert this into a group.

so.. I just made it own dA artists even more.

I don't know if many of you have read up on deviantART history, and i wont go into it... but This website has ALOT of history! The community is definitely something that can be impacted [including the crikey community however big or small it may be considered] with the flick of a hat. What i will do with this club, after [hopefully] the group has been approved, is i will turn this club into a suggestion box.

Anything you guys want to see more of, or would like to have [competitions or devmeets etc] then you can throw the suggestions here.

I'll try to neaten up the journals so that you have specific journals to write in, and then leave it up to you guys to write what you will.

As for the main group, that is where you can suggest pictures, have general discussion and just enjoy having crikey back to play with!

It'll be fun!!!
